On March 23rd Appalachian State , Wake Forest, and NC A&T ROTCs met at Fort Pickett Virginia to do their annual Joint Field Training Exercise (JFTX). This event gives Cadets the experience of working with students from other schools to be able to adapt to new environments. The Cadets participated in Land Navigation, Squad Training Lanes, and a 12 Mile Foot March. The Squad Training lanes allowed MS3 (Juniors) Cadets to hold a leadership position during different operations where they had to plan and execute a tactical mission. The MS3 cadets were assigned positions such as Platoon Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and Squad Leader to test their leadership ability. For the 12 mile foot march numerous Appstate cadets participated in the RECONDO group (sub-3 hour). The top 5 finishers of the foot march were all Appstate Cadets.
