This semester App ROTC has incorporated a new element into its weekly Physical Training schedule. In addition to Physical Readiness Training (PRT), Strength and Conditioning, runs and ruck marching – Cadets will also explore military yoga. The intent is to promote active recovery, injury prevention, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Most injuries sustained by Soldiers can often be mitigated by young leaders understanding the importance of promoting physical and emotional maintenance of Soldiers through active recovery means such as yoga. Leading the effort will be Captain Lindsey Hildebrand who led Combat Readiness Yoga instruction at Fort Campbell Kentucky. She is currently working as a cognitive learning specialist and advisor interning with the Academic Services for Student-Athletes here at App while she transitions from Active Duty.
