Colonel David Hubner, class of 1983

Colonel David HubnerDavid Hubner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and was commissioned through ROTC at Appalachian State University.

His duty assignments include:

  • Tank Platoon Leader, Scout Platoon Leader, and Battalion Maintenance Officer in 2-37 AR, 1st Infantry Division, Germany
  • Tank Company Commander during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and HHC Commander, 1-64 AR, 24th Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA
  • Battalion Operations Officer and Executive officer, 1-34 AR, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, KS
  • Commander of 1-77 AR, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany

His military schools include Armor Officer Basic and Advance Course, The Defense Information School, The Command and General Staff College, and The US Army War College.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with V device and Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Action Badge along with many other awards. He is a member of the Order of St George, St Michael, and St Barbara.

COL Hubner currently resides at Fort Knox, KY. Col Hubner and his wife Ruth are the parents of two sons, Scott and Matt.
