CPT Snelson was born and raised in Pasadena, Texas. She attended the United States Military Academy where she graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences in Engineering Psychology in 2018. Upon graduation, she was commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer and headed to Fort Sill, Oklahoma for Field Artillery Basic Officer Leaders Course (BOLC).
Upon graduation from BOLC, she was assigned to 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Fort Campbell, Kentucky from December 2018 to September 2020. While assigned, she served as a M777 Fire Direction Officer, M777 Platoon Leader, and Heavy Weapons Company Fire Support Officer. She then moved to the Headquarters Support Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) from September 2020 to August 2023. She served as a Company Executive Officer and the Battalion Adjutant. During her time at the 101st, she attended Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, and achieved her Expert Soldier’s Badge. CPT Snelson attended Psychological Operations Selection and Assessment in April 2022 and following selection, attended the US Army Airborne School.
After completing Army Special Operation Forces Captains Career Course (ARSOFCCC) CPT Snelson was assigned to Alpha Company, Support Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) and worked with ARSOFCCC as a Fires Liaison and OIC of their Student Management component. She then served as the Group Headquarters and Headquarters Company Commander for 2nd Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) from 19 March 2024 to 02 May 2025.
CPT Snelson’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Soldier’s Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Parachutist Badge.
CPT Snelson lives in Boone, North Carolina with her two cats, Clementine and Honey. Her husband is also a servicemember.
