Captain Porter Lockhart

Captain Porter Lockhart is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. After being awarded a two-year Army ROTC scholarship, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry Branch in 2013. At that time, he graduated from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain Management.

Upon completion of the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course and the US Army Ranger School, CPT Lockhart proceeded to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and was assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, where he deployed to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM as a Rifle Platoon Leader. CPT Lockhart then served as a Company Executive Officer for C Company.

Upon arrival to 2nd Ranger Battalion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, CPT Lockhart was assigned to B Company as a Ranger Platoon Leader, then later to A Company as a Company Executive Officer. CPT Lockhart deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION FREEDOM’S SENTINEL while assigned to 2nd Ranger Battalion. In 2018, CPT Lockhart attended the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course (MCCC) at Fort Benning, Georgia. Upon completion of MCCC he took command of B Company, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado in the 4th Infantry Division from 2019-2021.

CPT Lockhart’s military education includes Infantry Officer Basic Course, Ranger School, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Infantry Mortar Leader Course, Stryker Leader Course, Airborne School, and Air Assault School.

CPT Lockhart resides in Boone, NC with his family.
