Captain Brian Wilson

Captain Wilson is an Appalachian State alumnus, graduating with a BS in Exercise Science and commissioning as a Signal Officer on branch detail to the Infantry with the class of 2017. Upon graduation, he attended the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course (IBOLC), Ranger School, and Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Captain Wilson was assigned to the 1st Brigade, 1-504th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) of the 82nd Airborne Division, where he served as a Light Infantry Platoon Leader, Heavy Weapons Company Executive Officer, and Battalion Liaison Officer. Captain Wilson was additionally deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Allies Refuge. Captain Wilson went on to attend the Army Special Operations Forces Captains Career Course (ARSOF CCC) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and served as the Battalion S6 for the 92nd Civil Affairs Battalion (SO) (A).

Captain Wilson’s military Schools include Ranger School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Static Line Jumpmaster School, Rappel Master School, and the S6 Staff Course. His decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Basic Parachutist Wings, Senior Parachutist Wings, and Air Assault Wings. Captain Wilson has been awarded the Presidential Unit Citation (permanent award), Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Operation Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal with campaign star, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Ribbon, the National Defense Ribbon, and the Army Service Ribbon.
