Three cadets were commissioned as second lieutenants at a ceremony held August 5th on campus. The students are members of Appalachian State University's Mountaineer Battalion, the Department of Military Science and Leadership's ROTC program. They join thirteen of their classmates who were commissioned in May.The newly commissioned officers were William Hintz, Jacob Lay and Ryan Pope.
