2016 Cadet Leadership Development Exercise (CLDX)

Appalachian State ROTC participated in a Cadet Leadership Development Exercise (CLDX) April 14th to April 18th in order to facilitate joint training among Cadets from varying host schools. The CLDX was held at Fort Jackson, SC. The exercise allows for Cadet Leadership Course (CLC) bound Cadets, mainly MSIIIs, to gain confidence in tactics and peer leadership. Cadets participated in five tactical lanes where they maneuvered as a Platoon element, with the end-state that every cadet would display the knowledge they have gained thus far in an environment that enables problem-solving and critical-thinking. Also, select Cadets were able to participate in a flight aboard a CH-47. Appalachian State ROTC continued the Mountaineer Battalion tradition of displaying high proficiency both tactically and technically.
