Dining Out 2016

Appalachian State ROTC hosted a Dining-Out on March 25th to celebrate the 2016 commissioning class at the Meadowbrook Inn in Blowing Rock, NC. Traditionally the Dining-Out is a formal dinner held to celebrate the accomplishments of the ROTC battalion and its seniors over the past year. During the Dining Out, the commissioning class is pinned with their assigned Army branches by family members or friends. This year, the Professor of Military Science, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Zopfi, stood in for the guest speaker who had to back out on short notice. Colonel Zopfi welcomed the families of the soon to be Second Lieutenants and reinforced their leadership training to be Army Officers. He closed his remarks by challenging the graduating seniors; "Take care of your Soldiers and they will take care of you; Always remember why you chose this path in the first place. Lead by example and not words alone."
